A SOLEMN Anzac Day Dawn Service was attended by more than 1000 members of the Medowie community on Saturday, led by the Medowie RSL sub-Branch.
One of those in attendance at the Medowie Social was Member for Port Stephens Kate Washington, who said the community “came together and stood in stillness and silence”.
“Local former and currently serving Defence personnel stood alongside other locals, with many young people representing their schools, preschools and clubs with honour,” Ms Washington said.
“As the haunting sounds of bagpipes and bugle played, black cockatoos and kookaburras joined the call.”
Local photographer Amanda Green captured the scenes for News Of The Area.
