FROM THE MAYOR’S DESK: Community Satisfaction Survey

FROM THE MAYOR’S DESK: Community Satisfaction Survey

WE’RE fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and as a council we’re committed to meeting the needs of everyone who lives here.

To understand what matters to you, we need your feedback.

Our annual Community Satisfaction Survey lets you tell us what we’re doing well and where we can improve. We want to hear from everyone, whether you’re running a local business, raising a family, or have lived in Port Stephens your whole life.

The survey asks questions about our services and facilities that are part of your everyday life, including local roads, footpaths, waste collections, parks, beaches, and libraries. Your feedback helps us understand how these services are working for you.

Last year, residents told us they were satisfied with our libraries and waste services, while local roads and path conditions, and environmental protection were among their priorities for improvement.

In response, we continued our record $29 million Roads Acceleration Program to fast-track road upgrades and developed the draft Road Futures Strategy to guide long-term planning. We also updated our Pathways Plan to help identify where paths are needed most and ensure funding delivers the greatest benefit for the community.

We also continued our environmental work, planting thousands of trees, regenerating over 10 hectares of bushland, and diverting 4.5 tonnes of textiles out of landfill in just one day.

This year, we’re working with Taverner Research Group, offering the chance to provide anonymous verbal feedback. You might receive a phone call from them, asking for your feedback. They will not ask for any personal data, and any feedback will be anonymous.

You can complete the survey online at pscouncil.info/communitysatisfactionsurvey or pick up a hard copy at the administration building in Raymond Terrace, your local library, or pool.

Please take a few moments to have your say.

Your feedback helps us shape council’s priorities and build a better future for Port Stephens.
