THE Nelson Bay Croquet Club held their intraclub Golf Croquet Autumn Doubles on Sunday 1 March 2026.
The competition was played as a Hi-Lo Handicap event with the 24 entrants formed into 12 doubles teams by listing them in ascending handicap order and then pairing the lowest handicap player with the highest handicap player.
The 12 teams were then randomly split into 2 blocks of 6 teams each, with each team playing a round-robin of five 13-point games. The top team in each block then played-off in a final.
The round-robin games started at 9am with warm and dry weather and the courts in perfect condition to play good croquet.
The winners of each block were Lynette Lambert (handicap 14) and Rae Uptin (7) and Kath Orton (12) and Bryce Patterson (12).
The final was a great tussle with Kath and Bryce winning a close game.
