LOCAL downsizers are being urged to act quickly to secure one of the final homes at Blueheath at the Bower, with the popular Port Stephens retirement community now approaching a complete sell-out.
The call comes after a highly successful Open Day event, which saw dozens of prospective buyers tour the Medowie community and inspect the final homes currently under construction.
Blueheath is Principle Living’s first retirement village and has attracted consistently strong interest from Hunter region retirees since its launch in 2020.
Once complete, the boutique community will feature a total of 112 architect-designed homes in a green, landscaped setting designed to support social connection, wellbeing and independent living.
Prices for the remaining homes start from around $740,000 with a limited selection of home styles still available.
Blueheath’s two- and three-bedroom homes offer a range of features for a comfortable and affordable lifestyle suitable for ageing in place, such as accessible design elements, spacious open plan living, large alfresco areas, ducted air conditioning and solar panels.
Principle Living Executive Director Andrew Mann said the strong response to the recent Blueheath Open Day reflected growing urgency among downsizers.
“We’re seeing an increase in demand as the community nears completion and people can see exactly what they’re buying into,” Mr Mann said.
“For our residents, it’s not just about the home – it’s about joining a thriving community that is already up and running, with established amenities and a strong sense of connection.”
That sense of connection is something residents say sets Blueheath apart.
Recent arrival Robyn Reynolds said she knew she had found the right place almost immediately.
“I fell in love with the place as soon as I drove through the gate,” she said.
“I just felt very welcome straight away… everyone is so friendly and there are so many things to do.”
Now settled into the community, Robyn says the decision has given her both confidence and comfort.
“I feel safe here. I feel that people care about me – this is home,” she said.
Mr Mann said feedback like this reflects the broader appeal of established communities such as Blueheath.
“When people visit and speak to residents, they quickly understand what makes the community work, namely the combination of thoughtful design, shared spaces and the people themselves,” he said.
Blueheath residents enjoy access to a wide range of shared facilities, including a clubhouse with dining and lounge areas, indoor heated pool, gym, bowling green, library, games room, workshop and community gardens.
Mr Mann said the final release represents a rare opportunity in the local market.
“There are very few opportunities to join a completed or near-complete retirement community in this region,” he said.
