LETTER: Shoal Bay – stop whinging and let Council get on with it

DEAR News Of The Area,

I WAS disappointed that the NIMBYS at Shoal Bay grabbed the headlines (‘Troubled path’, NOTA, 20/8/26).

This is public land, and public access for everyone should be encouraged.

That includes those with disabilities and people  with prams.

For real answers, it’s well worth a read of the projects update on this pathway on Council’s website.

The route was on the 2016 pathway plans so please stop going on about lack of consultation.

At last Council has been able to get 100per cent outside grant funding to at least get it started.

Yes, it would have been nice for it to go all the way to Shoal Bay – we just have to wait for funds.

Concerns about e-bikes and the like are a police matter.

Does that mean we should stop putting in new pathways everywhere?

Council – please just get going with this long overdue project. It would be great to have it finished by Christmas.

Regards,

Margaret Wilkinson,

Corlette.
