GOOD things come in pairs is a motto fully endorsed by talented Nelson Bay siblings Alexis and Jacinta Scott.

Whether competing on a netball court or mastering butterfly and backstroke in the pool, you’ll find these sporty sisters in the thick of the action.

Both represented Nelson Bay at the respective Netball NSW State Senior and Junior titles in Sydney earlier this year where they made an impact at the prestigious three-day championship carnivals.

Skilful midcourter Alexis turned in classy displays for the Nelson Bay under-15s representative team that finished a creditable 10th in the State Division Three category at the Baulkham Hills Shire Netball Courts.

For her efforts, Alexis was recognised by Netball NSW officials and named in the Talent Identification system along with emerging goal attack Sophie Edwards and goalkeeper Ciara Cullen.

It was a deserved honour for the quicksilver wing attack, who also guided the Nelson Bay North Stars to a top three finish in the Newcastle Girls’ 15-years premier Division One competition.

When she’s not dominating the midcourt as a player, you’ll find the dedicated Alexis displaying her umpiring skills at various associations and carnivals.

Alexis, who earned her National C umpiring badge, capped an eventful 2026 campaign by taking out Nelson Bay’s Senior Umpire of the Year Award.

Twelve-year-old sister Jazi can also reflect on a superb netball season at club and representative level.

A fierce competitor with a never-say-die attitude, the promising wing defence took out Nelson Bay association’s Junior Recognition Award for her all-round efforts on and off the court.

Jazi proved a mainstay for the Nelson Bay 12-years representative team that finished with a runners-up Blue Patch at the NSW State Junior Netball titles at Camden.

She added plenty of starch to the Bay defence with wholehearted displays and proved a fine ambassador for the association at various carnivals.

The gifted under-12s squad were later named Nelson Bay’s Representative Team of the Year.

Jazi also was a leading figure in the Stingrays’ premiership-winning team that tasted success in the Nelson Bay Intermediate under-14s competition.

Comprised of mainly 12-year-olds, the Stingrays defeated minor premiers Wave Riders 46-40 after extra time in a pulsating grand final.

She also shone for the Medowie Clovers under-12s that reached the preliminary final of the Maitland Netball Association Division One competition.

Both siblings are also accomplished swimmers with the Nelson Bay Swim Club at Tomaree Aquatic Centre and have developed their backstroke and butterfly techniques under Head coach Tom Davis.

Fifteen-year-old Alexis represented Tomaree High at the NSW Combined High Schools Swimming titles where she showed her versatility in a range of events.

Jazi’s competitive spirit extends to the touch football field where she excels as a sharp-running middle in the Nelson Bay Touch Football association.
