MEMBER for Port Stephens Kate Washington was a special guest when Raymond Terrace Men’s Shed hosted a hot breakfast recently to mark Australia Men’s Shed Week.
“We were thrilled to have 60 members attend along with Kate Washington, the Minister for Families and Communities, along with two members of her team,” Raymond Terrace Men’s Shed president John Young told News Of The Area.
“Kate spoke to the group, answered questions about local issues and expressed her appreciation for the Shed’s ongoing contributions to the community through our toy sales and donations.
“We extended special thanks to her for recognising our group in the Parliament Hansard and acknowledging our support for local non-profit organisations.”
The Raymond Terrace Men’s Shed is based in new premises at 17G Irrawang Street in Boomerang Park.
Its members take part in activities four and a half days a week, with the first and second Tuesday of each month assigned for member computer tutorials.
