Letter to the Editor: Cost-of-living failure

DEAR News Of The Area,

UP until recently diabetics on a chronic health care plan received their five visits bulk billed to the podiatrists.

Now podiatrists demand we pay a gap of about $30 per visit… on a pension this is another cost-of-living failure by the government.

Why doesn’t the government arrange Medicare to pay the full payment to podiatrists?

Or do you have a place where diabetic pensioners on a chronic health care plan can get podiatric treatments free?

Remember podiatrists can help prevent serious health issues that may cost your government in the long term.

You will recall all the ads during the election campaign about better health for Australians!
