A MAN died after being pulled from the water at Stockton Beach on Sunday, 20 September.
Emergency services were called to Stockton around 4pm following reports that several people in the water were experiencing difficulty.
Three men, all aged in their 20s, were pulled from the water with the assistance of members of the public.
One of the men was unresponsive, and CPR was commenced by bystanders before emergency services arrived.
Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated all three men. However, one could not be revived.
The other two were taken to John Hunter Hospital as a precaution.
Police have commenced an investigation into the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
