Positive Behaviour for Learning awards Term 2 Week 10

The Term 2 Week 10 winners of PBL awards.

HERE are the winners of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) awards for Term 2 Week 10.

This week’s award presentation ceremony was hosted by Medowie Public School.

“At Medowie Public School, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is a whole-school approach that fosters a positive, safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive,” said school principal Allison Thompson.

“Through PBL, our staff, students, families and wider community work together to promote shared expectations and strengthen positive behaviours.

“We are proud to be part of the Community PBL network and value the meaningful impact it has on student wellbeing, engagement and success.
“By working in partnership with our community, we can create the best possible outcomes for all children.”

Irrawang PS Jeramiah demonstrated confidence, respect, and enthusiasm during our excursion by actively participating in a didgeridoo performance with one of the leaders. He embraced the learning opportunity and represented our school positively. Well done Jeramiah!

Raymond Terrace PS

Jo’Aya is nominated for showing support to a student and assisting them to navigate social situations in a positive and respectful way. She consistently demonstrated empathy, kindness, and patience, ensuring the student felt included and supported. Jo’Aya’s willingness to look out for others and offer guidance reflects her genuine commitment to the wellbeing of her peers. Through her actions, she modelled respect, responsibility, and care, contributing positively to the school community.

Grahamstown PS

Koby is nominated for his dedication to improving in all areas of learning and for his excellent achievement in Mathematics. He consistently challenges himself, demonstrates a positive attitude towards learning and always strives to do his best. Koby is a kind and respectful student who includes others in learning and play, setting a wonderful example to his peers across all areas of school life. Well done, Koby

Irrawang HS

Congratulations to Year 10 student Bryn on being selected as goalie for the Hunter team at the NSW CHSSA Secondary Football Championships in Sydney. Bryn played an important role in the team’s outstanding six game tournament, helping Hunter become State Champions with a fantastic 1–0 Grand Final win over Sydney North. Well done, Bryn, on demonstrating our school PBL values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best.

Hunter River HS

Tia has been a warm and welcoming peer to new students arriving in Year 9, supporting them to feel comfortable and valued at school both in and out of the classroom.

Salt Ash PS

Capri has been nominated for demonstrating our school values of being a Positive, Respectful and Safe Learner through her outstanding efforts at the Regional Cross Country Championships. At just 7 years old, Capri was one of the youngest competitors in the event and represented Salt Ash Public School with pride, determination and resilience. She showed incredible grit throughout the race and never gave up, embodying the true Salt Ash spirit. We are especially proud that Capri is the first student from our small school to compete at this level for some time. Her positive attitude, respectful sportsmanship and determination make her a wonderful role model for others. Congratulations, Capri we couldn’t be prouder of your amazing achievement!

Medowie PS

Madden is a kind and caring student. Each day he helps support younger students on their way to school, ensuring they are safe and travelling to school correctly. Fantastic work, Madden

Seaham PS

Toby is the Seaham Public School captain and is a wonderful role model for others to follow. Recently as host of the Seaham Public Speaking finals, Toby showed outstanding leadership and care. Toby supported every speaker, ensuring they had the right equipment and were ready to start. Toby’s compassion was noticed by many.

Karuah PS

Josh is nominated for showing community pride and responsibility by helping local elders and officials pack away equipment at a local Karuah family event. Well done Josh!
