Medowie Public School

THE Term 3 Week 3 PBL awards were hosted by Medowie Public School.

At Medowie Public School, we believe every child deserves to learn in an environment where they feel safe, respected and supported.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is at the heart of our school culture, providing a consistent framework that encourages students to make positive choices and develop the skills they need to succeed both at school and in the wider community.

Our school is proud to be part of the Community PBL network, working alongside families and the local community to promote shared expectations and celebrate positive behaviour.

Together, we are building a culture where every student is empowered to learn, grow and reach their full potential.

Irrawang PS

Riley shines as a responsible and caring STAR Leader at our school. She is always the first to lend a helping hand to younger peers and shows great respect for our equipment by maintaining the sports shed. Her willingness to embrace new challenges and push her own boundaries is truly inspiring. Well done Riley!

Raymond Terrace PS

Jasper is nominated for the kindness and respect he shows others. He matches this with personal responsibility. In the Wellbeing Hub Jasper helps younger students with their activities, always encouraging them to have a go before assisting them and then showing them how and helping them to pack up. He always checks to see the hub is packed up perfectly before leaving. Everyone values his responsibility.

Grahamstown PS

Amarlie demonstrated an outstanding commitment to learning and proudly represented her culture during our school’s NAIDOC activities. She took on a leadership role by confidently demonstrating traditional dances, teaching and guiding her peers, and supporting the high school students during the dance rotation. Throughout the event, Amarlie showed exceptional respect, leadership and a genuine commitment to sharing her culture with others, making a positive impact on our whole school community

Irrawang HS

Islay was selected to represent the region as a member of the Hunter Senior Dance Ensemble, demonstrating perseverance while collaborating respectfully with dancers and choreographers from across the region to develop and perform a high-quality contemporary dance work.

Hunter River HS

Riley is nominated for demonstrating outstanding kindness and respect. Riley put another student’s needs before his own and offered patient support without being asked, showing a strong commitment to our school values.

Salt Ash PS

Levi has been nominated for this award by a parent for showing outstanding kindness and empathy. When a peer was accidentally hit by a boomerang, Levi immediately stepped in to help, supporting the student and walking with them to the office. His caring and compassionate actions demonstrated our PBL values and showed genuine concern for the wellbeing of others. Well done, Levi!

Medowie PS

Mackenzie is a wonderful student who consistently demonstrates our school expectations each and every day. Her kindness, generosity and care for others make her a valued member of our school community. Mackenzie’s commitment to our PBL expectations is further reflected in her published story, which she co-authored with her mum. Congratulations, Mackenzie, on this fantastic achievement!

Seaham PS

Mia consistently upholds the Seaham Public School PBL values of being a respectful, responsible learner. Mia’s care for others is a credit to her, and she is respected by the whole Seaham School community. Mia can often be seen hand in hand with a younger student guiding and helping them in some way. We are very proud of you, Mia.

Karuah PS

Montana is nominated for her thoughtfulness and generosity. Montana selflessly had her hair cut and donated it so it could be made into wigs. This thoughtful action shows she cares and wants to make a difference. Congratulations Montana!
