THE Friends of Tomaree National Park has announced a series of free guided walks to celebrate the spectacular late winter wildflower bloom across the Tomaree Peninsula.
Running from August through early September, these volunteer-led tours offer locals and visitors a unique opportunity to explore the park’s vibrant burst-of-colour in its heathy woodlands, and learn the fascinating stories behind hundreds of native blooming plants.
“We are offering several walks to help people enjoy and appreciate Tomaree’s wonderful wildflowers through the best of the season,” said National Parks Association (Hunter Region) President, John Simpson.
“If you would like to find out more about the names and curiosities of our wonderful wildflowers, we are leading several slow-paced short walks, suitable for most people.”
The program includes a longer whole- day circuit route through the high and low trails of the park’s interior.
While all guided walks are completely free, booking is strictly essential.
