HUNTER Valley Gardens is set to captivate couples, individuals and families once again as Mega Creatures 2026 transforms the Gardens into a fantasy world of dinosaurs, insects, dragons and mythical legends from 28 March to 26 April 2026.
Now expanded with breathtaking new installations and themed zones, this year’s event promises an array of interactive family experiences.
Visitors will encounter towering prehistoric creatures, majestic dragons perched atop castle ruins, enchanting unicorns in whimsical meadow settings and dazzling flower dragons throughout the expanded Land of Legends precinct.
Popular returning features including giant animatronic insects and prehistoric favourites will once again take over the Gardens, creating a vibrant outdoor experience.
A Mega Creatures Day Session runs daily from 9am to 4pm (last entry 3pm), with amusement rides operating from 10am to 3:30pm.
Attractions include the Venetian Carousel, Tea Cups, Swing Chair, Superslide and Ferris Wheel.
On select evenings, the Gardens will glow during the Mega Creatures Night Safari (3–19 April and 24–26 April).
Running from 5pm to 9:30pm, the safari offers a dramatic after-dark fantasy experience.
The Easter Long Weekend (3–6 April 2026) will feature Easter-themed Easter Egg Hunts through the newly designed Hoppity Hollow and Easter Bunny encounters.
Julie Pettit, Marketing Manager at Hunter Valley Gardens, says Mega Creatures continues to grow as one of the region’s most anticipated events for young and old.
“Mega Creatures has become a signature autumn time event for the Hunter region.
“In 2026 we’ve expanded our fantasy zones and creature installations to deliver even more wow-factor for visitors. “The combination of large-scale animatronics, themed areas and our Night Safari experience makes it visually breathtaking and highly engaging for visitors of all ages,” she said.
The event also offers accommodation packages in partnership with Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens and Harrigan’s Hunter Valley, supporting overnight visitation and regional tourism.
