Terrace Strike Zone, Keeping Family Fun Affordable

DESPITE being in the middle of the largest financial outlay in the bowl’s 20-year history, Raymond Terrace Strikezone’s Neville Marchbank is determined to keep school holiday prices down.

The bowl is undergoing a major and expensive expansion that will ultimately see the addition of a first-floor mini golf course above a licensed ground-floor darts and pool room, complete with high-tech, state-of-the-art dart boards linked to cameras, computers and big-screen displays.

“As you’d imagine, building works aside, the outlay for this equipment alone represents a substantial outlay,” Neville said.

“But that’s business and it would be remiss of me to increase prices when everyone is struggling in the current economic climate. I see it as our role to provide an affordable, fun break from the tedium.”

To help families manage rising costs, the bowl continues to offer affordable holiday pricing.

Early-bird games are available for just $6 between 9am and 10am during the school holidays.

From 10am, holiday prices start at $13.95 for two kids’ games ($14.95 for adults) and run through several pricing options, including the $17.95 Mega Meal Deal, which includes two games, a 370ml drink and a choice of hot dog or chips.

The bowl’s popular Friday and Saturday night special will also continue throughout the holidays.

The offer includes unlimited games over three hours for $17.95 per person, with a minimum of three players per lane.

While the expansion has involved a significant investment and a lengthy construction period, excitement is building ahead of the opening of the new facilities.

Understandably after such a long build, Neville is looking forward to his first drink in the proposed boutique bar.

“I am sure that the licensed pool and darts room will become a popular attraction, particularly when word gets around that it will be available for private hire functions.”
